Jeg leste og ble trollbundet av denne trilogien for første gang i fjor vår. Penny Vincenzi har diktet opp en fantastisk familiesaga fra London og New York gjennom seks tiår, og bøkene får deg til å le, sørge og leve med familien Lytton og deres omgangskrets. Vi starter ut på bryllupsdagen til Lady Celia og Oliver Lytton, og får derfra følge med mens familien deres utvides, barna vokser opp og får barn selv, kriger herjer landet og river familier i stykker, og hele veien er Lady Celia til stedet og observerer, blander seg inn og korrekterer verden til hennes standard. Vi får oppleve tragedie, kjærlighet, sinne og skandaler, og hele veien vil man bare ha MER!

Nå som all tre bøkene er ferdiglest, og ligger i en stabel vedsiden av meg, håper jeg i mitt stille sinn at Penny Vincenzi skal våkne opp en dag og tenke "jeg tror jeg vil skrive en fortsettelse!" For jeg lurer på hva som kommer til å skje med Jenna? På om hun konfronterer Charlie? Hvordan Clemmie skal kunne ta vare på alle sammen i Primrose Hill? Om Cathy ender som mamman sin? Hva som skjer med aksjene Lady Celia etterlot seg? Og hvordan kommer det egentlig til å gå med Lyttons?
